How Cricket Daily collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last Updated: October 8, 2026  ·  Effective immediately

Cricket Daily ("we", "us", or "our") is a sports content platform operated by N3ST3D Labs LLC, providing live scores, match reports, player statistics, cricket analysis and free cricket puzzles. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you visit cricketdaily.net or sign in to your Cricket Daily account, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices. If you have any questions, contact us at info@cricketdaily.net.

01

Information We Collect

When you visit Cricket Daily, we may collect the following categories of data automatically through standard web server logs and analytics tools:

Technical Data

IP address (truncated to protect identity), browser type and version, operating system, device type (mobile, desktop, tablet), and screen resolution.

Usage Data

Pages visited, articles read, time spent on each page, referral source (e.g. Google, social media), and navigation paths through the site.

Location Data

General geographic location derived from your IP address (country and city level only). We do not collect precise GPS or device location.

Engagement Data

Article view counts, session duration, scroll depth, and content interaction signals used to measure content performance and improve coverage quality.

Account Data (only if you sign in)

Your name, email address, profile picture and account identifier from Google or Facebook, plus the display name we create for you. See section 2.

Game Data (only if you sign in)

The puzzles you play, the words you find, your points, and your start and finish times. See section 3.

ℹYou can read everything on Cricket Daily without an account. Creating an account is optional and only needed to save puzzle scores. Apart from sign-in, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information unless you contact us directly.
02

Accounts & Signing In

You can create a Cricket Daily account by signing in with your Google account or your Facebook account. When you do, we receive the following from Google or Facebook, with your permission:

  • Name: used to create your display name.
  • Email address: used to identify your account and to link your Google and Facebook sign-ins if they use the same address. Facebook does not always provide an email address.
  • Profile picture: shown in the site menu while you are signed in, and next to your display name on puzzle leaderboards.
  • Account identifier: a number Google or Facebook assigns to you for our site, used to recognise you when you return.

We do not receive your password, contacts, posts, friends list, or any other information from your Google or Facebook account, and we never post anything on your behalf. We use account data only to create and maintain your Cricket Daily account, keep you signed in, save your puzzle progress and scores, and show your display name on leaderboards.

Use of Google user data. Cricket Daily's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide the sign-in and account features described here.
03

Puzzles, Scores & Leaderboards

When you play a puzzle while signed in, we store which words you found, your points, and when you started and finished, so you can resume later and so your score can be ranked.

Each puzzle has a public leaderboard showing the display name, profile picture, points and finishing time of signed-in players. Your display name is your first name and the first letter of your last name (for example, "Virat K."). Your email address is never shown publicly.

ℹIf you play without signing in, your progress is saved only in your own browser's local storage. It is never sent to us, and you will not appear on any leaderboard.

View Counting & Server-Side Analytics

Cricket Daily displays public view counts on articles to show content popularity. To provide accurate and abuse-resistant view counts, our server processes the following data points for each page request:

  • IP Address: used to deduplicate views within a 24-hour window. We store a hashed (non-reversible) version only; the raw IP is never persisted to our database.
  • User Agent String: used to filter out known bots, crawlers, and automated traffic (e.g. Googlebot, Bingbot) so view counts reflect genuine human engagement.
  • General Location: country and city-level data derived from IP geolocation, used to surface regional content insights (e.g. which matches are most popular in which markets).
  • Device Fingerprint: a non-unique, anonymous signal composed of browser version, OS, and screen size, used only to assist deduplication on shared IP networks (e.g. public Wi-Fi, university networks).
ℹNone of the above data points are linked to personal identities or to your account. View counting data is aggregated and used exclusively to display accurate article metrics and improve editorial decisions.
06

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Operating and delivering the Cricket Daily platform and its content
  • Displaying accurate article view counts and engagement metrics
  • Creating and maintaining your account if you choose to sign in, saving your puzzle progress and scores, and showing your display name on puzzle leaderboards
  • Analysing traffic patterns via Google Analytics to understand which content resonates with our audience and improve our editorial output
  • Monitoring site health, performance, and search visibility via Google Search Console
  • Detecting and preventing automated abuse, spam traffic, cheating in puzzles, and artificially inflated view counts
  • Improving page load times, mobile responsiveness, and overall user experience based on aggregated usage signals

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, behavioural profiling, or any automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

07

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal data. Cricket Daily has never sold user data to any third-party organisation for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose, and we have no plans to do so.

We share limited data only with the following trusted service providers as necessary to operate the platform:

  • Google LLC: Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console for traffic analysis and search performance monitoring. Google processes data under their own Privacy Policy and GDPR Data Processing Addendum. IP anonymisation is enabled on all our Google Analytics configurations. Google also provides "Sign in with Google" if you choose to use it.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc.: provides "Continue with Facebook" if you choose to use it. We do not send your Cricket Daily activity or scores to Facebook.
  • Hosting & Infrastructure Providers: Our web servers and database infrastructure, including account and game data, are hosted on secure cloud platforms. These providers process data solely to deliver the service and are bound by contractual data processing obligations.

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cricket Daily, our users, or the public.

08

Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Account and game data: kept until you delete your account. Deleting your account permanently removes your name, email address, profile picture and all of your scores.
  • Deletion request records: when a deletion request comes through Facebook, we keep only a confirmation code, its date and the outcome, so you can check its status. This record contains no personal information.
  • Server logs: retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.
  • Hashed IP data for view deduplication: retained for 24 hours per article session, then purged.
  • Aggregated analytics data: retained for up to 26 months in Google Analytics (the default GA4 retention period), after which it is automatically deleted by Google.
  • Article view counts: stored as aggregate numbers only (not tied to any individual) and retained indefinitely as part of the article record.
09
