Trinbago Knight Riders 2026: full squad, key signings, and their CPL fixtures

By Duane Martin · Cricket Daily

No team in Caribbean Premier League history has more silverware than the Trinbago Knight Riders, and in 2026 they arrive as champions once again. TKR won a record fifth title in 2025 and now chase back-to-back crowns for the first time since their 2017 and 2018 double.

Owned by the Shah Rukh Khan-led Knight Riders Group, the same family behind IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders, TKR keep a squad built on experience. Nicholas Pooran captains, Dwayne Bravo continues as head coach, and the West Indian core of Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Akeal Hosein stays intact.

Here is the full squad, the key names, and every fixture the Knight Riders play this summer.

T

wo quick questions before the season

When do Trinbago Knight Riders start their CPL 2026 title defence?

The Republic Bank CPL 2026 runs from August 7 to September 20, 2026. TKR begin away against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at the Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent on Saturday, August 8. Their standout stretch is a five-match home run at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad between August 26 and September 2.

Who leads TKR and who are their key players?

Nicholas Pooran captains the side, with Dwayne Bravo as head coach. The team is anchored by a decorated West Indian core of Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Akeal Hosein, with a five-man overseas group of Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Matthew Breetzke, Usman Tariq and Amshi de Silva.

The squad build, explained

TKR are owned by the Knight Riders Group, the only ownership family with teams across four major T20 leagues, including Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. That global setup has helped make Trinbago the benchmark franchise in the Caribbean, with five titles to their name in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2025.

The 2026 CPL draft, held in May, opened a new three-year contract cycle and reset every roster, with each franchise building around nine senior West Indians, five overseas players and a set of breakout picks. TKR chose continuity over change. Through the right-to-match system they retained the spine of their title-winning group: Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Akeal Hosein and Terrance Hinds. Hosein, in particular, was Player of the Match in the 2025 final.

Overseas, the Knight Riders have named a five-man contingent built on proven T20 quality. New Zealand opener Colin Munro and England's Alex Hales bring top-order power, joined by South Africa batter Matthew Breetzke, who has emerged as one of the most in-form white-ball run-scorers of the past year. Pakistan mystery spinner Usman Tariq, a wicket-taking force for TKR last season, returns alongside Sri Lankan seamer Amshi de Silva to give the attack variety next to Narine's spin. Dwayne Bravo, a TKR great as a player, continues in his second year as head coach.

The Knight Riders play their home games in 2026 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, and go in as favourites to defend their crown.
