Trent Rockets 2026: full squad, new signings, and their Hundred fixtures

By Duane Martin · Cricket Daily

The Hundred is back for a sixth season, and it arrives looking different. Franchises now have outside investors, the old draft has been replaced by an auction, and

Trent Rockets have used that reset to rebuild around a heavyweight top order.

The men's side are former champions, winners of the very first men's title in 2022, and runners-up last year after losing the 2025 final to the team now known as MI London. In 2026 they will try to go one better under a new captain, with a squad reshaped by the auction and topped up by a late injury replacement in Mohammad Amir.

Here is the full squad, the new faces, and every fixture Trent Rockets play.

Two quick questions before the season

When does The Hundred 2026 start, and when do Trent Rockets play?

The tournament runs from July 21 to August 16, 2026, with the eliminator at the Kia Oval on August 14 and the final at Lord's on August 16. Trent Rockets open away at Birmingham Phoenix on Friday, July 24, then play their first home game against London Spirit at Trent Bridge on Sunday, July 26.

Who are Trent Rockets' big new signings for 2026?

The headline additions are Tim David, Ben Duckett and Mitchell Santner, all locked in as pre-auction signings, with Sam Billings coming in as the new men's captain. Northamptonshire seamer Ben Sanderson and Durham all-rounder Ben Raine arrived through the Wildcard Draft, and left-arm quick Mohammad Amir was the latest to sign, brought in to cover David Payne's ankle injury.

The new signings, explained

The 2026 season marked a structural shift for The Hundred. The draft is gone, replaced by two auction days in March, and the per-team men's budget jumped to around £2.05 million. That gave franchises real spending power for the first time, and Trent Rockets used theirs to go big at the top of the order.

Their four pre-auction moves set the tone. Tom Banton was retained, while Tim David, Ben Duckett and Mitchell Santner were signed directly. Duckett arrives from Birmingham Phoenix and Santner from the side now called Sunrisers Leeds, giving the Rockets an England opener at the top and a world-class left-arm spinner who can also lead the attack.

Sam Billings takes over as captain, adding a calm keeper-batter and an experienced leader to the group.

The Wildcard Draft in June added county-proven depth: Ben Sanderson, one of the most reliable seamers on the circuit, and Ben Raine, a Durham all-rounder who offers seam bowling and lower-order runs.

The most recent addition is Mohammad Amir. The former Pakistan quick, now a British citizen, came in to replace the injured David Payne. He brings genuine new-ball threat and death-overs experience, and he is the kind of signing that can swing tight games in a format where every ball counts.

Peter Moores stays on as head coach, with Mick Newell as director of cricket.

Where to watch and what's at stake

Every men's and women's game in The Hundred 2026 is live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, with a women's fixture preceding the men's game at the same venue each matchday.

The two sides that top the group tables go straight to the final at Lord's on August 16. The teams finishing second and third meet in the eliminator at the Kia Oval on August 14 to decide who joins them.

With a rebuilt top order, a new captain, and a late boost in Amir, the Rockets have the pieces to push deep. The question, as ever in a competition this short, is whether it all clicks in time. Their opener at Edgbaston on July 24 gives the first clue.

For scores, ticket links, and the rest of the tournament, keep it locked to Cricket Daily through the season.
