Sunrisers Leeds 2026: full squad, new signings, and their Hundred fixtures

By Duane Martin· Cricket Daily

Leeds cricket has a new name and new owners for 2026. The team formerly known as Northern Superchargers are now Sunrisers Leeds, part of the Sun Group empire that also runs Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, and they open the entire tournament on the biggest possible stage.

Harry Brook remains the marquee name and local hero, but it is Zak Crawley who takes the captaincy this year, with Daniel Vettori arriving as head coach. Add a headline auction move for Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed and this is a genuinely reshaped side.

Here is the full squad, the new arrivals, and every fixture Sunrisers Leeds play this summer.

When do Sunrisers Leeds start their Hundred 2026 campaign?

The tournament runs from July 21 to August 16, 2026, with the eliminator at the Kia Oval on August 14 and the final at Lord's on August 16. Sunrisers Leeds actually open the whole competition, playing away at MI London at the Kia Oval on the opening night of Tuesday, July 21, against the three-time defending men's champions. Their first home game is against Southern Brave at Headingley on Saturday, July 25.

Who are Sunrisers Leeds' new signings for 2026?

The side is built around retained England star Harry Brook, with Zak Crawley named captain and Daniel Vettori taking over as head coach. Mitchell Marsh, Ryan Rickelton and a strong England pace group came in, while the eye-catching auction move was Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed. Charlie Allison and Matt Revis arrived through the Wildcard Draft.

The new signings, explained

Like the rest of The Hundred, Leeds went through a full reset in 2026. Outside investment arrived, the draft was replaced by an auction, and the Northern Superchargers name gave way to Sunrisers Leeds after the Sun Group, owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad, took control of the franchise.

Harry Brook, England's white-ball captain and a Yorkshireman, was the obvious retention. Interestingly, having led the side for the previous two seasons, Brook stepped back from the captaincy, and Zak Crawley takes the armband for 2026. Mitchell Marsh adds an explosive all-round option, and Ryan Rickelton brings another attacking top-order choice with the gloves.

The most talked-about signing came at the auction, where Sunrisers landed Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for £190,000. The move drew attention as a rare case of an Indian-owned franchise investing heavily in a Pakistani player, and it gives the attack a genuine wicket-taking option through the middle. Around him sits a deep

English seam group of Brydon Carse, Nathan Ellis, Matthew Potts and Reece Topley, with Dan Lawrence and Benny Howell adding all-round balance.

Daniel Vettori, who previously coached Birmingham Phoenix, is the new head man. The Superchargers never won the men's title, though the Leeds women's side are the reigning champions, so there is a standard for this group to chase.

Where to watch and what's at stake

In the UK, Sky Sports is the home of The Hundred with every match live. The BBC carries all games live on BBC Sounds, shows 16 matches live on BBC TV, and posts highlights on BBC iPlayer and its sport site.

The men's and women's sides that finish top of their group tables go straight to the final at Lord's on August 16. The teams placed second and third meet in the eliminator at the Kia Oval on August 14 to decide who joins them.

Opening the tournament against the champions is a tough draw, but with Brook and Marsh driving the batting and a varied attack behind them, Sunrisers Leeds have the firepower to make a run at a first men's title. It all begins under the lights at the Kia Oval on July 21.
