Southern Brave were the very first men's champions of The Hundred back in 2021, and in 2026 they arrive with fresh backing, a revamped coaching setup, and a squad built around raw pace and big-hitting depth.

The franchise is now co-owned, with Hampshire holding a majority stake and India's GMR Group taking the rest after the sport's landmark investment process. Off the back of that, the Brave have reshaped their group through the new auction system, pairing Jofra Archer's pace with a batting line-up that runs deep.

The tournament runs from July 21 to August 16, 2026, with the eliminator at the Kia Oval on August 14 and the final at Lord's on August 16. Southern Brave open at home against Welsh Fire at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday, July 22, the second match of the whole competition.

Jamie Smith arrives from London Spirit as a keeper-batter who can set games alight at the top, while Marcus Stoinis switches from Trent Rockets, bringing power hitting and useful seam after a strong 2025 campaign. Tristan Stubbs adds another dynamic middle-order option with glovework in his locker.

Jofra Archer stays as the spearhead, and his fitness and availability will shape how far the Brave go. Alongside him, Chris Jordan takes on the captaincy, leading a pace-heavy attack that also features Daniel Worrall and Luke Wood, with Adil Rashid's leg spin providing control through the middle.

The coaching group was refreshed too, with Hemang Badani and Jonathan Batty reported to be taking up roles as the new owners put their stamp on the cricket operation.

Every team plays eight group games, meeting six sides once and their local rivals twice. For the Brave, that repeat fixture is Welsh Fire, whom they face home and away. Four of their eight games are at the Utilita Bowl. Times below are given in local UK time (BST), which applies at every ground, alongside IST for readers following from the subcontinent.

For fans in India and Pakistan, most of these are late-night watches, kicking off around 11:00 PM IST. The exception is the July 25 trip to Headingley, which starts at a far friendlier 7:00 PM IST.
