Saint Lucia Kings CPL 2026 Squad: Noor Ahmad Returns, Full Player List, Schedule & Home Ground

Summary Overview: Saint Lucia Kings CPL 2026 squad revealed — Noor Ahmad returns, Tim Seifert, Asalanka and Theekshana signed. Full squad, schedule and Daren Sammy Stadium guide.

Saint Lucia Kings CPL 2026: Five Star Overseas Signings, Noor Ahmad Returns, and a Shot at Back-to-Back Titles

The Saint Lucia Kings won their first CPL title in 2024. They went back-to-back and won it again in 2025. Now, heading into the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League, the Boys in Blue are hunting something no franchise has managed since the Trinbago Knight Riders dynasty of the early 2020s — a third consecutive title.

The CPL 2026 is bigger than any previous edition. Seven teams for the first time, with Jamaica Kingsmen joining the competition. Thirty-nine matches across the Caribbean from August 7 to September 20. The final, for the first time in CPL history, at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Saint Lucia Kings are ready.

The Overseas Signings: Five Players, One Clear Strategy

The Kings have confirmed five overseas players for CPL 2026 — and every signing tells the same story. Spin, power, and versatility. No dead weight in this overseas contingent.

Noor Ahmad — Afghanistan | Left-Arm Wrist-Spinner

The headline returnee. Noor Ahmad played a central role in the Kings' 2024 title campaign, taking 22 wickets across the tournament including crucial ones in the final in Guyana. He skipped CPL 2025 to play in other T20 leagues, leaving a noticeable gap in the spin department. He is back for 2026 and remains one of the most sought-after white-ball spinners in the world. His ability to turn the ball both ways, control the middle overs, and strike at pivotal moments makes him the most important bowling asset in this squad.

Tim Seifert — New Zealand | Wicket-Keeper Batter

Seifert extends his stay with the franchise, cementing his role as one of CPL's most feared wicket-keeper batters. The Kiwi's flexibility throughout the order, record-breaking scoring in T20 franchise cricket globally, and consistent run-scoring make him an indispensable pillar of the Kings' batting spine. His experience at the top of the order in T20 cricket across multiple franchises worldwide gives the Kings an opener who has seen every situation the format can produce.

Charith Asalanka — Sri Lanka | Left-Handed Batter

Asalanka brings left-handed elegance, proven finishing ability, and a cool captain's head that adds significant leadership depth to the Kings' dressing room. The Sri Lankan white-ball star is a proven finisher capable of anchoring a chase or unleashing late-overs fireworks with equal fluency. His presence strengthens the middle order and gives the Kings a batter who has performed in World Cups and major franchise leagues around the world.

Maheesh Theekshana — Sri Lanka | Off-Spinner

A new weapon for the Kings. Theekshana arrives armed with subtle variations and unerring accuracy in both the powerplay and death overs. The Sri Lankan off-spinner has become a franchise cricket mainstay prized for his composure and ability to stifle batters across every phase. Alongside Noor Ahmad, he gives Saint Lucia a spin combination capable of controlling the middle overs of any match — a formidable partnership that opponents will struggle to attack.

Shadley van Schalkwyk — USA | Right-Arm Fast-Medium

Completing the overseas quintet is USA quick Shadley van Schalkwyk, whose pace, bounce, and versatility add a dimension the spin-heavy lineup needs at both ends of the innings. His ability to bowl with the new ball and at the death gives the Kings a seam option that creates difficult angles. His growing recognition across franchise cricket makes him an astute addition at a competitive price point.

The Captain: Roston Chase

Roston Chase captains the Saint Lucia Kings for CPL 2026. The Barbadian all-rounder is one of the most respected and experienced players in West Indies cricket — a right-handed middle-order batter and off-spin bowler who brings calmness, tactical nous, and a match-winning capability in both departments. His experience leading in the Caribbean domestic system and his knowledge of conditions across the region make him the ideal skipper for a squad hunting a third title.

Players to Watch

Jewel Andrew

One of the most exciting young players in Caribbean cricket. Andrew made his West Indies debut at just 18 years old last year — one of the youngest ever to represent the region. His wicket-keeping ability and aggressive opening batting make him a major CPL 2026 storyline for Saint Lucia.

McKenny Clarke

Clarke is coming home after back-to-back CPL title wins — 2024 with the Kings and 2025 with Trinbago Knight Riders. He knows what winning looks like and his fielding and all-round energy were standout features of TKR's 2025 campaign. His return to Saint Lucia adds championship mentality back to a squad that already has plenty of it.

Kamil Pooran

One of the most destructive left-handed batters in T20 cricket. Pooran's ability to change a game in ten balls from the middle order makes him one of the most dangerous finishers in the tournament. On his day, very few bowlers in the CPL will be comfortable bowling to him in the last five overs.

Ackeem Auguste

Young Saint Lucian batter who represents the local talent the franchise is building for the future. His inclusion alongside experienced West Indies internationals gives the squad homegrown depth and the kind of crowd connection at the Daren Sammy Stadium that overseas players simply cannot replicate.

The Home Ground: Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium

The Saint Lucia Kings play their home games at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia — one of the most atmospheric venues in Caribbean cricket.

The ground was originally known as Beausejour Cricket Ground before being renamed in 2016 to honour Saint Lucia's greatest cricketer, Daren Sammy — the only player to captain West Indies to two ICC World T20 titles. The stadium holds 15,000 spectators and has hosted ICC World Cup matches and major international fixtures alongside its CPL hosting duties.

The pitch at the Daren Sammy Stadium typically assists pace bowlers early in the innings before offering more to spinners as the surface dries. The lights installed in 2006 allow for evening matches, and the atmosphere under lights with the Saint Lucian hills in the background is one of the great T20 cricket experiences. Playing at home gives the Kings a meaningful advantage — the crowd, the conditions, and the familiarity combine to create an environment opponents consistently find difficult.

Saint Lucia home games in CPL 2026 are scheduled between August 12 and August 21.

Saint Lucia Kings CPL 2026 Schedule

CPL 2026 runs from August 7 to September 20. The Kings open their campaign at Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent before returning home to the Daren Sammy Stadium for their home games in mid-August.

What the Kings Need to Do

The 2026 squad is arguably the most balanced Kings unit in the franchise's history. Noor Ahmad returning to an attack that already includes Theekshana gives the Kings a spin combination that could dominate in Caribbean conditions. Chase provides the captaincy experience. Seifert and Asalanka give the batting spine genuine depth. And the young West Indian core — Andrew, Auguste, Clarke — ensures there is energy and home-crowd connection throughout.

The expanded tournament with seven teams means more matches, more tests, and a deeper pool of competition. Jamaica Kingsmen arrive as genuine unknowns. Trinbago Knight Riders are defending champions. Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Tridents are always dangerous.

The Kings have done it twice. The question in 2026 is whether the Boys in Blue have what it takes to make it three.
