By Duane Martin · Cricket Daily
The most successful franchise in Big Bash history is taking its show to Guyana. Perth Scorchers XI make their Global Super League debut in 2026, earning the invite as reigning BBL champions, and they open the entire tournament on July 23.
Ashton Turner captains, Scorchers great Simon Katich steps in as head coach, and the squad carries genuine subcontinent interest with Pakistan pair Usman Khan and Sufyan Moqim on board. Every game is live in Pakistan on A Sports HD.
Here is the full squad, the fixtures, and how to follow it.
When do Perth Scorchers XI play at GSL 2026?
The Scorchers play four group games, all at Providence Stadium in Guyana. They open the whole tournament against Lahore Qalandars on July 23, then face San Francisco Unicorns on July 26, Desert Vipers on July 28 and hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors on July 29, with less than 24 hours between those last two. The top team after the round-robin goes straight to the August 1 final, with a Qualifier between second and third on July 31.
Who leads the squad and who are the names to watch?
Ashton Turner captains, with Simon Katich as head coach for the tournament. The six overseas players include Pakistan's Usman Khan and Sufyan Moqim, alongside West Indies left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein and New Zealand batter Mark Chapman.
A champion side on debut
Perth booked their GSL spot by winning a record-extending sixth BBL title, beating Sydney Sixers in the BBL|15 final at Optus Stadium. Several of that winning group
travel to Guyana, including Brody Couch, Aaron Hardie, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Agar, Joel Curtis and Sam Fanning.
Leading them is Ashton Turner, a three-time BBL title-winning captain who also skippered Multan Sultans in the 2026 Pakistan Super League. In the dugout, Scorchers great Simon Katich takes over as stand-in head coach, with regular coach Adam Voges unavailable due to commitments at The Hundred.
The overseas contingent is where the star power sits. Pakistan's Sufyan Moqim arrives in outstanding form, having finished as the leading wicket-taker of PSL 11 with 22 wickets and been named Player of the Tournament, while compatriot Usman Khan was among the competition's top run-scorers with a century to his name. They line up alongside West Indies duo Akeal Hosein and Ackeem Auguste, New Zealand's Mark Chapman and South Africa's Dian Forrester. Former Australia international D'Arcy Short also pulls on the orange for the first time.
