Jamaica Kingsmen 2026: full squad, key signings, and their CPL fixtures
By Duane Martin · Cricket Daily
The Caribbean Premier League welcomes a brand new team in 2026, and it comes with a distinctly Pakistani flavour. The Jamaica Kingsmen are the league's seventh franchise, marking Jamaica's return to the CPL after a two-year absence, and they are owned by the same group behind the PSL's Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Rovman Powell captains the side, Andre Russell headlines a strong Jamaican core, and the overseas group is packed with Pakistan talent led by Saim Ayub and Usman Khan. As a new team getting the tournament's opening game, the Kingsmen are one of the most intriguing storylines of the season.
Here is the full squad, the key signings, and their fixtures.
When do Jamaica Kingsmen start their CPL 2026 campaign?
The Republic Bank CPL 2026 runs from August 7 to September 20, 2026. The Kingsmen play the very first match of the tournament, against Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at the Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent on Friday, August 7. Their home leg is a four-match stretch at Sabina Park in Kingston from August 11 to 18, the first CPL cricket staged in Jamaica since 2019.
Who owns and captains the Kingsmen, and who are the key signings?
The franchise is owned by Kingsmen Sports Enterprise, led by Pakistani businessman Fawad Sarwar, whose PSL side Hyderabad Kingsmen reached the 2026 final. Rovman Powell captains, with Andre Russell the marquee Jamaican name and a seven-strong overseas group headlined by Pakistan internationals Saim Ayub and Usman Khan.
The squad build, explained
This is a genuinely fresh start, not a rebrand. Jamaica had no CPL team for 2024 and 2025 after the three-time champion Jamaica Tallawahs went defunct in 2023, and the Kingsmen take up a new franchise slot rather than reviving the old side. Owner Fawad Sarwar's Kingsmen Sports Enterprise also runs the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the PSL, and plans to link its franchises under one shared identity.
As the new entrant, the Kingsmen were handed the first three unchallenged picks in May's draft, restricted to Jamaican players, and used them to land captain Rovman Powell, the explosive Andre Russell and Under-19 World Cup leg-spinner Vitel Lawes. Around that trio they built a Jamaican-heavy core including Keemo Paul, Keacy Carty and Odean Smith, plus emerging local talent in Shaqkere Parris, Kirk McKenzie, Romaine Morris, Jeavor Royal, Jediah Blades and Kelvin Pitman.
The overseas contingent is where the Pakistan connection shows. All seven signings have links to the ownership's Hyderabad Kingsmen: explosive opener Saim Ayub, middle-order hitter and keeper Usman Khan, batting all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat, all-rounder Hassan Khan, seamer Hunain Shah (brother of Naseem Shah), keeper-batter Shayan Jahangir and young batter Tayyab Arif.
Crucially, the overseas group is phased around availability. Hassan Khan and Hunain Shah are available for the whole tournament, with Shayan Jahangir and Tayyab Arif filling out the early fixtures. From August 19, Saim Ayub, Maaz Sadaqat and Usman Khan join and take the places of Jahangir and Arif, adding batting firepower for the business end of the campaign.

The Sabina Park home block from August 11 to 18 is the run to watch, though it starts around 5:00 AM PKT because Jamaica is an hour further behind. The top sides progress to the playoffs in Barbados, with the final on September 20.
Where to watch
CPL is broadcast widely around the world. In the Caribbean it airs on ESPN Caribbean and Flow Sports, while Willow TV covers the United States and Canada, and FanCode typically streams the tournament in India. In Pakistan, Tapmad has carried CPL coverage. Broadcast and streaming rights can change year to year, so it is worth confirming your local platform closer to the August 7 start.
