For the first time in a while, Zimbabwe host a full tour as the side with something to prove and the momentum to back it up. Bangladesh land for one Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is across three weeks split between Harare and Bulawayo, running from June 28 to July 19, 2026.

Zimbabwe come into it fresh off the best month in their recent white-ball history, having reached the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 for the first time ever, with wins over Australia and Sri Lanka along the way. Bangladesh arrive after whitewashing Pakistan in a two-Test series in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle, and with a short Australia leg behind them.

Two evenly matched teams, three formats, and real stakes on the ODI side. Here is everything you need before the first ball.

Two quick questions about the series

When and where is the Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe 2026 being played?

The tour opens with a one-off Test at the Harare Sports Club from June 28 to July 2. All three ODIs stay in Harare too, played on July 6, 9, and 11. The action then shifts south to the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo for the three T20Is, which close out the tour on July 15, 17, and 19.

Why does this tour actually matter?

The ODI series carries the most weight. Both teams are building toward the 2027 ODI World Cup, and with direct-qualification points in play, neither can afford to treat these as friendlies. For Zimbabwe it is also their first home international series since that landmark T20 World Cup run, so there is pride and a home crowd expecting more. For Bangladesh, it is a chance to keep their World Cup qualification math healthy on the road, which is exactly the kind of tour that has tripped them up before.

The formats keep different slots. The Test and ODIs start in the Zimbabwe morning, which lands in the early India afternoon and the pre-dawn hours on the US East Coast. The T20Is push back to a Bulawayo afternoon, giving Indian fans a 4:00 PM watch and US viewers a more reasonable breakfast-time start.

Where to watch the Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe 2026

Coverage is spread across a mix of TV and streaming depending on where you are:

  • Zimbabwe: Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC TV), with SuperSport carrying it across Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Bangladesh: Gazi TV (GTV) and T Sports on television, with streaming on the Rabbitholebd platform.
  • India: FanCode holds the streaming rights.
  • Pakistan: Tapmad will live stream the series.
  • Canada and Singapore: JioHotstar.
  • Rest of the world: the T Sports YouTube channel and ICC.tv.

Some markets also get the series through Bet365's live streaming service for eligible customers. Rights can shift right up to the start, so it is worth double-checking your regional broadcaster in the day or two before each match.

What to expect from the pitches

The two venues play differently, and that split should shape how each leg of the tour unfolds.

Harare Sports Club tends to give the seamers something to work with early, especially with the new ball and in the longer format, before it settles into a fair batting surface once the shine goes. That plays into Zimbabwe's hand in the Test and the opening overs of the ODIs, where a pace attack led by Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, and Newman Nyamhuri can put the ball in awkward areas.

By the back half of an innings, though, run-scoring gets easier, and spin starts to matter more as the surface wears. Expect the toss to carry real weight, and expect chasing sides to fancy their chances if they survive the first ten overs.

Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo is the slower, lower of the two. It is traditionally a batting-friendly track that can turn a touch two-paced as a game goes on, which usually rewards spinners and batters who can manipulate the field over those who back raw power. For the T20 leg, that points toward par-ish totals rather than sky-high ones, and it hands a nudge to the side with the smarter middle-overs plan rather than the biggest hitters.

The bigger picture

On paper this looks like the kind of tour that used to be a routine Bangladesh assignment. It is not that anymore.

Zimbabwe are a genuinely improved white-ball side with a settled core and a pace unit that travels well at home. Sikandar Raza remains the difference-maker across formats, and the T20 World Cup run has given this group a belief that recent Zimbabwe teams did not carry into home series.

Bangladesh still hold the head-to-head history and the deeper batting resources on record, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy anchoring the group. The question is whether they can convert that on surfaces that will not simply hand them dominance.

That tension, between a home side on the rise and a visiting side that expects to win but has to earn it, is what makes this one worth following from the first Test in Harare to the last T20I in Bulawayo.
